Air Algérie aims to transport nearly 10 million passengers in 2026 by expanding its flight network, with a focus on international markets with promising potential, according to a company statement issued this Wednesday.

The statement explained that the company revealed, during its 2026 Annual Summit held at its headquarters, “Saïd Aït Messaoudene”, its objectives for the current year. They include “surpassing the threshold of 9.8 million passengers, representing an additional one million passengers compared to 2025”.

To achieve this endeavor, “the flight network will be expanded, focusing on international markets with promising potential, in tandem with the launch of a comprehensive review to enhance the customer experience and elevate the quality of services provided,” the statement added.

According to the data announced during this summit, organized under the theme “Let’s Reinvent Customer Experience” and attended by its executives and employees, the company recorded a “notably positive performance” in the past year, 2025. It transported 8.8 million passengers, representing an 11 percent increase compared to 2024.

According to the statement, the company considers 2025 to have been a “pivotal” year in its development path, marked by an accelerated pace of modernization through two prominent strategic steps: the creation of a domestic airline subsidiary and the commencement of receiving new aircraft to bolster its fleet.

As part of its transition toward a holding company model, Air Algérie launched last Monday its new subsidiary, “GO Ground Operations,” dedicated to ground handling services.

During this meeting, held in the presence of Air Algérie's CEO, Hamza Benhamouda, and the Director General of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAM), Hassan Boulfelfel, various activities were reviewed, achieved results were analyzed, recorded challenges were discussed, and measures were proposed to ensure continuous performance improvement.

In this regard, presentations were delivered covering the key pillars of transformation, notably the integration of new IT solutions for 2026, namely the CRM and RefX systems, and their impact on enhancing the customer experience, in addition to restructuring the loyalty program and developing ancillary services.

On the financial performance front, the presentations focused on ways to improve Air Algérie’s profitability and strengthen debt monitoring mechanisms, from accounting registration to collection. A discussion session was dedicated to the new organization of the company’s international branches, while several executives participated in two workshops focused on modernizing operational programming systems and optimizing operating costs.

The summit’s proceedings concluded with an awards ceremony for the most outstanding employees, in recognition of their commitment and active contribution to achieving the goals of the Air Algérie Group, according to the statement.
