In implementation of the high directives of the President of the Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at modernizing public facilities, improving the quality of administrative services, and bringing the administration closer to the citizens, the Algerian Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Mr. Saïd Sayoud, accompanied by the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, supervised today, February 18, 2026, the inauguration ceremony of the regional branches of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the wilayas of Constantine, Ouargla, and Oran. The ceremonies took place in the wilayas of Ouargla and Constantine, respectively, marking the official entry into service of these new structures.
This significant step, the first of its kind at the national level, represents an unprecedented practical consolidation of the principle of administrative decentralization for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' services within the country. It enables citizens to benefit from document authentication services for use abroad at the local level, in convenient and streamlined conditions, eliminating the need to travel to the Ministry's headquarters.
This initiative, which reflects the fruit of tight coordination and close institutional cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, falls within an integrated path aimed at further strengthening their joint inter-sectoral cooperation. This is particularly relevant to the modernization of public service, enhancing the effectiveness and quality of public facilities, and simplifying procedures related to consular and administrative services for the benefit of citizens, both within the country and abroad.
In this context, both ministries reaffirmed their determination to continue implementing joint workshops and projects aimed at modernizing the administrative and consular services system and elevating its quality. This reflects the state's steadfast commitment to supporting our citizens, including members of our national community abroad, and contributes to establishing a modern, effective public facility that is close to the citizen and responsive to their aspirations.
