Algeria is participating in the 32nd edition of the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition in Russia, which kicked off this Wednesday, according to a statement from the National Office of Tourism (ONT).

Algeria's participation in this exhibition (March 11-13), considered one of the most prominent specialized global tourism events, falls within the framework of "the National Office of Tourism's international action plan aimed at strengthening the presence of the Algerian destination in foreign markets." It serves as a "platform to promote and enhance partnership opportunities among stakeholders, explore investment opportunities, and exchange experiences," the source added.

This participation holds particular significance, the source explained, given "the position of the Russian market as one of the world's largest tourist-exporting markets with high spending power." This is coupled with "the Russian tourist's growing interest in new and authentic destinations outside traditional tourist trails, providing Algeria with a genuine opportunity to position itself as a premium tourist destination."

Consequently, Algeria's participation will serve as a "strategic occasion to showcase its rich tourism and cultural assets, particularly in light of the excellent bilateral relations it shares with Russia and the promising prospects they offer for developing cooperation in the tourism sector." It will allow for the promotion of Algeria's diverse potential, which blends natural, cultural, and civilizational elements—especially the unique Saharan character of the Algerian south and its authentic tourism product, highly capable of attracting the interest of Russian tourists.

Algeria will participate through a pavilion hosting a group of national tourism operators. The space is equipped with all necessary resources to ensure the effective promotion of the national tourism product and destination. Furthermore, aspects of the country's cultural heritage related to traditional crafts will be highlighted through displays of artistic ceramics, offering visitors a close-up opportunity to learn about and appreciate the stages of crafting these products, the ONT statement added.

It is worth noting that the previous edition of this exhibition saw the participation of over 1,008 exhibitors representing more than 72 countries, in addition to welcoming over 16,427 visitors, including professionals and tourism enthusiasts, reflecting the prestigious international standing of this event.
