Commissioned by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, arrived today, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, on a working visit to the wilaya of Bejaia to supervise the launch ceremony for the exploitation and valorization project of the zinc and lead mine located between the municipalities of Amizour and Tala Hamza.
This visit falls within the framework of implementing the strategy approved by the President of the Republic, which aims to make the mining sector a strategic driver for sustainable economic development by reducing reliance on hydrocarbons and promoting the diversification of the national economy.
The project is also considered a pivotal step in the process of reviving mining activity and strengthening industrial sovereignty, thereby supporting the national economic dynamic.
During this visit, the Prime Minister is accompanied by the Minister of State and Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab; the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Said Sayoud; the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjal; in addition to the Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Abdelkader Djellaoui.
