Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, chaired a Government meeting this Wednesday devoted to the examination of a draft executive decree determining the procedures for applying general rules related to public procurement, as well as roadmap projects for several sectors for the 2026–2028 period, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, the full text of which follows:
“The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, chaired a Government meeting this Wednesday, March 18, 2026, dedicated to the examination of the following points:
At the outset, the Government commenced the examination of a draft executive decree determining the procedures for applying general rules related to public procurement.
The draft of this text aims to clarify the regulatory framework intended to ensure the effective application of the legislation in force. To this end, it will allow for a better codification of practical procedures and the completion of operational mechanisms governing the preparation and execution of public procurement, thereby ensuring balance in contractual relations. Furthermore, the draft of this text aims to improve the use of public funds while establishing a fair competitive environment that bolsters the principles of transparency and ethics.
It also aims to encourage the valuation and promotion of national production, while ensuring strict adherence to the rules of good governance in the management and execution of public procurement.
On the other hand, and within the framework of preparing sectoral roadmaps for the 2026–2028 period, the Government examined the draft roadmaps for the sectors of Transport; Justice; Higher Education and Scientific Research; National Education; Internal Trade and National Market Regulation; Youth; Public Works and Basic Infrastructure; Irrigation; and Sports”.
