The militant journey of the late mujahed and diplomat Noureddine Djoudi was at the center of a conference organized on Wednesday in Algiers, in recognition of his remarkable contributions during the Liberation Revolution, as well as his active role in supporting liberation movements in Africa and around the world.

Organized by the Mechaâl Echahid Association, in coordination with the daily newspaper El Moudjahid and the International Association of Friends of the Algerian Revolution (AIARA), the gathering was held at the Memory Forum of El Moudjahid. It was opened with an address by the president of the Mechaâl Echahid Association, Mohamed Abad, who indicated that the meeting aimed to highlight the militant and diplomatic journey of the deceased and to recall his efforts in strengthening Algeria's position on the international stage as a platform of support for peoples fighting for freedom and independence.

It was also an opportunity to perpetuate the legacy of the deceased, a source of inspiration for future generations called upon to continue defending national values and the immutable principles of the Liberation Revolution.

For his part, the Secretary General (SG) of the AIARA, Nacer Belgacem, praised the qualities of the late diplomat, highlighting his wisdom, foresight, and diplomatic skill, which allowed him to contribute effectively to the national cause. He added that the deceased was "a model of an accomplished militant, combining field commitment with the capacity for political and diplomatic action."

Meanwhile, the South African Ambassador to Algeria, Ndumiso Ndima Ntshinga, praised the militant qualities of the late Noureddine Djoudi and his contributions to supporting liberation movements worldwide, particularly in Africa.

The deceased "embodied the model of a diplomat committed to the causes of colonized peoples, placing his expertise and connections at the service of strengthening international solidarity with struggle and liberation movements at a pivotal moment in contemporary history," he noted.

The South African diplomat added that the deceased's efforts converged with major paths of struggle, notably that of South African leader Nelson Mandela, in the defense of freedom and human dignity.

For his part, the Cuban Ambassador to Algeria, Hector Igarza Cabrera, emphasized that "Algeria, thanks to its distinguished diplomats like the late Noureddine Djoudi, became a destination for revolutionaries and a beacon for liberation movements around the world, to the point of being dubbed the 'Mecca of Revolutionaries'." He specified that this role "was not a matter of chance, but the result of a conscious political and diplomatic vision that made Algeria a platform of support for just causes and a meeting place for militants from different continents."

At the beginning of the conference, a documentary film was screened, retracing the last appearance of the late militant Noureddine Djoudi at the Memory Forum in July 2025.

In his final address, the late moudjahid evoked pivotal stages in the history of the national struggle, highlighting the genesis of Algerian diplomacy at the heart of the Glorious November Revolution, as a parallel front to armed action.

The event was marked by live testimonies from militants, journalists, and writers who recalled the rich journey of the deceased, praising his human qualities and his tireless activism in the service of the homeland.
