The Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Mr. Lotfi Boudjemaa, highlighted on Wednesday the importance of the draft technical amendment to the Constitution, stating that it constitutes a quality contribution aimed at strengthening the efficiency of powers and constitutional institutions, as well as ensuring greater protection of rights and freedoms.

Presenting the draft law on the technical amendment to the Constitution during the joint session of the two chambers of Parliament dedicated to its vote, the minister specified that the 12 technical amendments proposed today aim to "fill constitutional gaps to address ambiguities or contradictions between texts that arise during their practical application."

One of the main objectives of these amendments, he added, is to "guarantee the consistency of legal texts," making it "a quality contribution to strengthening the efficiency of powers and constitutional institutions and ensuring greater protection of rights and freedoms."

Addressing these technical shortcomings that arise during practical application falls within the framework of "the continuation of the political and constitutional reforms undertaken by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to enshrine good governance and consolidate the rule of law and its institutions."

On this occasion, the Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals presented the main aspects of these proposed technical amendments.

The session is continuing with interventions from the heads of the parliamentary groups of both chambers of Parliament before the final vote on the draft technical amendment to the Constitution.
