The director of the "Mokh Way Art" Foundation, Hussein Mokhtar, announced on Wednesday in Algiers the launch of the fourth season of the "Helm" (Dream) theatrical development project in the wilaya of Tipaza. The project aims to enhance the role of theater in developing children's creative and expressive abilities.
During a press conference held at the headquarters of the Mahieddine Bachtarzi Algerian National Theater in the capital, Hussein Mokhtar outlined the details of the fourth season of the "Holm" project. The initiative will take place in the wilaya of Tipaza "starting from the end of this month until next July." He described it as an "integrated program that combines artistic training and educational mentorship."
The speaker explained that "Mokh Way Art" is a "theatrical development initiative that began as an associative activity before becoming an independent foundation today, continuing to build on what it achieved in previous editions." He added that it targets "the rising generation of children across schools and working-class neighborhoods."
Mokhtar stated that the project is built on the fundamental premise that imagination represents a "basic pillar" in shaping a child's personality, which "requires proper support and guidance." From this standpoint, the project seeks to "accompany children, develop their awareness, and motivate them to transform their dreams into tangible creative energies."
According to the speaker, the program includes a series of training workshops running from March 27 to April 6, covering multiple fields such as dramatic writing and directing child actors, as well as lectures on the sociology of education and theatrical guidance for children. During this period, a theatrical performance will also be prepared with the participation of children, scheduled to be presented on April 7.
To expand the project's reach, the organizers have planned a second phase featuring a tour of theatrical performances across several educational institutions in Bou Ismaïl, Koléa, and Tipaza. These performances will be accompanied by interactive meetings with parents to introduce the project and discuss its educational dimensions.
The program will conclude with the launch of regular theatrical workshops inside schools at the beginning of next July.
