The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lounes Magramane, co-chaired the proceedings of the 7th session of the Algerian-Indian political consultations on Sunday at the ministry's headquarters, alongside the Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India in charge of cooperation with Southern countries, Ms. Neena Malhotra, according to a ministry statement.
On this occasion, the two sides praised, according to the statement, "the historical ties and bonds of friendship and cooperation uniting Algeria and India, as well as the positive momentum witnessed in bilateral relations, particularly following the state visit by the President of the Republic of India, Ms. Droupadi Murmu, to Algeria in October 2024, and the valuable talks she held with the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune."
The talks provided an opportunity to discuss "ways to elevate the strategic partnership relationship to the highest levels, in line with the potential that both sides possess in various fields, as well as to review the schedule of upcoming bilateral milestones in order to leverage them in serving the common interests of both countries," the same statement added.
The two sides also "exchanged views on a number of current regional and international issues of common interest, particularly those related to the evolution of the situation in the respective regions to which both countries belong," according to the ministry's statement.
