Mauritanian Prime Minister: “President Tebboune Conveys Message of Algeria's Continued Support to Mauritania"

The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Djay, stated on Tuesday that the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, entrusted him with a message to the brotherly Mauritanian people, affirming Algeria's unwavering support for Mauritania in defense of the common interests of both nations.

In a statement to the press following an audience granted to him and his accompanying delegation by the President of the Republic, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Djay explained that he delivered a written message from the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani. He also conveyed "his sincere brotherly greetings and his determination to continue working together to strengthen, develop, and enrich the relations between the two countries."

The Prime Minister added that the meeting was an opportunity to inform the President of the Republic of the "positive assessment" regarding the proceedings of the 20th session of the Algerian-Mauritanian High Joint Commission for Cooperation.

The Mauritanian Prime Minister noted that he received "encouragement and guidance" from the President of the Republic to move forward in implementing all agreed-upon measures and to harness all efforts to develop strategic relations.

He further pointed out that the President of the Republic also entrusted him with a "message of peace, appreciation, and greetings to his brother, the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and a message to the Mauritanian people and state, affirming Algeria's continued support for Mauritania to bolster the common interests of the two countries."

The audience took place in the presence of: Boualem Boualem, Director of the Cabinet at the Presidency of the Republic; Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs; Amar Abba, Advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of Diplomatic Affairs; and Amine Sïd, Algeria's Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
