The Muslim World League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have condemned the intrusion of an extremist Zionist official into the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Al-Quds, under heavy protection from occupation forces.
The Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, Mohammed Al-Issa, stated on Tuesday that "this intrusion constitutes a serious violation that inflames the feelings of Muslims across the world, as well as a major assault on the sanctity of Islamic holy sites."
To this end, he called on the international community to assume "its responsibilities to put an end to these violations."
For its part, the General Secretariat of the OIC condemned the intrusion of the Zionist official into Al-Aqsa, supported by the occupation forces, as well as the continued closure of the mosque and the ban preventing Palestinian worshippers from accessing it.
The OIC emphasized that "these measures are a continuation of repeated violations of the sanctity of holy sites and freedom of worship," and constitute "a flagrant violation of the Geneva Conventions and international law."
It held the Zionist entity "fully responsible for the consequences of these aggressions" against the occupied city of Al-Quds and its holy sites, warning that their continuation could fuel religious tensions, extremism, and instability in the region.
Furthermore, the OIC called on the international community to "act urgently to end these violations and guarantee the protection of holy sites as well as freedom of worship" in the holy city.
