The Algerian government welcomed the achievement by the parties concerned of a preliminary agreement to cease military operations in the Gulf and Middle East region, expressing its sincere appreciation for the international mediation efforts that made this agreement possible. This marks a step toward containing escalation in the region and finding radical solutions to all existing disputes, according to a statement issued today, Wednesday, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The statement read: "The Algerian government welcomes the achievement by the parties concerned of a preliminary agreement under which military operations in the Gulf and Middle East region will be ceased, and expresses its sincere appreciation for the international mediation efforts that enabled this agreement on the path to containing escalation in the region and finding radical solutions to all existing differences."

The Algerian government calls for "continued positive and honest engagement with international mediation to achieve lasting and sustainable security in the region." It also emphasizes the "necessity of not overlooking the requirements and foundations of security and stability in the brotherly state of Lebanon," according to the same source.
