The General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of People's National Army, oversaw the execution of the Hurricane 2026 exercise.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, this involves the execution of a tactical exercise with live ammunition in the In Guezzam operational sector, this Wednesday.
It was reported that the General of the Army listened to a presentation given by the Commander of the 6th Military Region and the Sector Commander, regarding the general idea of the exercise and the stages of its execution.
This exercise aims to “test the combat readiness of the operational sector's units and their ability to execute potential combat missions”.
It also aims to master combat equipment and modern weapon systems.
It also aspires to train commanders and staff, developing their knowledge in the fields of planning, preparation, organization, and execution, and immersing them in a real battle environment.
At the sector's maneuver field, the General of the Army closely followed the various combat operations executed by the deployed land and air units.
These operations were characterized by great professionalism at all stages, and by a high-level tactical and operational performance.
What has been presented confirms once again the seriousness of the operations carried out at both the planning and execution levels.
It reflects the high competence of the cadres in the field of planning, managing, and coordinating various combat operations.
The exercise highlighted once again the skill and ability of the personnel to master the use of various weapon systems and equipment put into service.
At the conclusion of the exercise, the General of the Army met with the personnel of the units that executed the drill to evaluate the participants' overall performance.
He congratulated them on the efforts exerted during the preparation and execution of this tactical exercise conducted with live ammunition.
The exercise achieved highly satisfactory results, reflected in the accuracy of the strikes with various weapons and the total coordination between different units and sub-units.
The General of the Army urged everyone to capitalize on the positive results achieved and make them a strong foundation.
This shall enhance the strength and pace of the operational performance development for the battle order in this sensitive region.
Following that, the General of the Army inspected the military units and formations that participated in this exercise.
