The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call today, Tuesday, from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the fraternal Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mr. Ayman Safadi, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On this occasion, the two ministers discussed "the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, foremost of which is the systematic escalation practiced by the Israeli occupation in the West Bank and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, manifested again yesterday in the storming of the Qalandia Training Center affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), in a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law."

In this context, both parties emphasized the necessity to "respect the legal and historical status of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Al-Quds Al-Sharif." They also underscored the need to "mobilize the support of the international community to put an end to these repeated practices and violations, which undermine the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and harm efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in the entire region."

The two ministers also discussed—the statement added—"recent developments in the Arabian Gulf region and the Middle East, particularly de-escalation efforts and the importance of prioritizing diplomatic and peaceful solutions to achieve security and stability in the region."
