Pope Leo XIV arrived Tuesday morning at the Home for the Elderly of Saint Augustine Church, the second stop of his visit to Annaba.
A warm welcome was extended to him by the officials of the Home, who also expressed their gratitude to the Algerian people for helping them meet the needs of the residents. They emphasized that it is thanks to the generosity of the Algerian people that they possess this facility and the means to pursue their mission.
Pope Leo listened with great attention to the statements made by the residents, who represent various nationalities.
To the rhythms of the hymn "To You, Land of My Ancestors, I Send My Greetings," the residents celebrated the Pope's visit. They expressed their immense joy for this exceptional and historic moment, which carries a message of peace from and for Algeria and the entire world.
