Pope Leo XIV expressed his sincere gratitude on Tuesday in the Wilaya of Annaba to the Algerian authorities for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him during his official visit to Algeria.
While presiding over a Mass at Saint Augustine’s Basilica, Pope Leo XIV shared a message of thanks with the Algerian government for the reception he received throughout his stay.
"Thank you to everyone for the welcome I have received. I offer my very special thanks to the Algerian authorities for the hospitality shown to me," he stated.
Addressing the current global situation, Pope Leo XIV once again advocated for peace, calling on the world to follow "the paths of justice and communion."
The Sovereign Pontiff arrived at Saint Augustine’s Basilica on Tuesday afternoon, marking the second day of his official visit to Algeria at the invitation of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
