At the conclusion of his two-day official visit to Algeria—the first in history by a Pope of the Catholic Church—His Holiness Leo XIV was honored with a solemn farewell ceremony led by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The two heads of state listened to the national anthems before greeting the respective delegations from both countries.
Continuing his African tour, which began in Algeria, Pope Leo XIV departs this morning for Cameroon.
