Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb chaired a government meeting this Wednesday dedicated to the examination of the following points:
First, the government reviewed a draft implementing decree regarding the creation of the National Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Management, defining its missions, organization, and operation.
This new body results from the merger of the Agency for the Promotion and Rationalization of Energy Use and the Agency for Renewable Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency. This initiative is part of an approach to improve and streamline public structures involved in renewable energy and energy efficiency, ensuring more effective coordination and governance to support Algeria's ambition to maintain its position as a leading energy player.
Finally, the government began examining a draft implementing decree defining the conditions and procedures for the certification of construction materials, as well as the maintenance and operation of road, highway, airport, maritime, and rail infrastructure.
This draft text aims to establish a reference framework defining the technical requirements and standards applicable to products used in public works, ensuring the quality, safety, and durability of infrastructure.
