Falling within the framework of "strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of health," this meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm "the depth of the fraternal and historical relations between Algeria and Chad, as well as the shared will to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand its horizons, particularly in the health sector, to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples and address current health challenges," the same source specified.
The two parties reviewed "the state of the health systems in both countries and exchanged views on ways and means to improve and strengthen their effectiveness." They also examined mechanisms for Algeria to support the health system in the Republic of Chad, particularly in the prevention, combatting, and eradication of transmissible diseases, in a dynamic reflecting the spirit of solidarity and effective cooperation between the two nations.
The two ministers also discussed "ways and means to establish a practical partnership through the signing of a cooperation agreement covering several priority areas, including the exchange of expertise and experience in the prevention and management of transmissible and non-transmissible diseases, the strengthening of epidemiological surveillance systems, and the development of skills for health personnel in medical, surgical, and paramedical fields, as well as hospital and administrative management."
In this context, the two sides agreed on "the importance of strengthening twinning operations and telemedicine between health establishments and structures in both countries, encouraging the exchange of visits and expertise, and supporting best practices in health care delivery. This will contribute to improving the quality of services and promoting patient care in the brotherly Republic of Chad."
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to "implement what was agreed upon on the ground through joint action programs and concrete projects capable of strengthening bilateral cooperation and elevating it to the level of a sustainable strategic partnership in the health field, based on mutual cooperation, common interest, and the values of solidarity and brotherhood uniting the two brotherly peoples."
