The President of the Republic of Chad, Mr. Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, performed Friday prayer today at Djamaâ el-Djazaïr.
The Chadian President was welcomed at the entrance of this religious and cultural landmark by the Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, and the Rector of Djamaâ el-Djazaïr, Sheikh Mohamed Mamoune El Kacimi El Hassani.
The Friday prayer services were held in the presence of members from the governments of Algeria and Chad, along with a large gathering of citizens.
The President of the Republic of Chad Visits the Facilities of Djamaâ el-Djazaïr
After performing the prayer, Mr. Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, visited various facilities of Djamaâ el-Djazaïr this Friday afternoon, including the Great Prayer Hall and the minaret of this religious and cultural landmark.
The President of the Republic of Chad, accompanied by Prime Minister Mr. Sifi Ghrieb and the Rector of Djamaâ el-Djazaïr Sheikh Mohamed Mamoune El Kacimi El Hassani, listened to explanations and a brief presentation on the facilities of Djamaâ el-Djazaïr and its symbolism as a scientific beacon and a curriculum for moderation and centrism.
He also signed the Golden Book of Djamaâ el-Djazaïr and received, on this occasion, a symbolic gift consisting of a copy of the Rodossi Quran, one of the oldest Mushafs in Africa.
