The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, launched this Wednesday in Batna a project for a factory producing metal parts and components through molding. This launch took place as part of his visit to the wilaya, commissioned by the President of the Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
After listening to a detailed presentation on this project, owned by the Maintenance Company of the East (SME), a subsidiary of the Algerian Industrial Cement Group (GICA), the Prime Minister clarified that this investment falls within the State's efforts aimed at reviving the national industry and strengthening integration within the automotive manufacturing sector.
Located in the Djerma industrial zone, this project constitutes a recovered asset, following the instructions of the President of the Republic regarding the rehabilitation and revival of industrial assets confiscated under final judicial rulings. These assets cover a total area of approximately 50 hectares.
According to the explanations provided, this investment, estimated at 6 billion DZD, will achieve a production capacity sufficient to equip 150,000 vehicles annually, in addition to creating 150 direct and indirect jobs.
The project relies on advanced industrial equipment, including 4 press forming machines with a capacity of up to 2,300 tons, which will enable the production of sheet metal parts for passenger, commercial, and heavy-duty vehicles.
This project is expected to contribute to the localization of the automotive body manufacturing industry in Algeria and reduce import dependency, in addition to supporting the national industrial fabric and creating an economic dynamic at the local level.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister inspected the various facilities, where he was briefed on the technical equipment adopted and listened to explanations regarding the manufacturing stages and the prospects for activity development.
