The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, chaired a government meeting this Thursday, devoted to studying several key points.
At the beginning of its session, and after dedicating several meetings to this draft text, the Government concluded the study of the draft Executive Decree defining the procedures for applying general rules related to public procurement.
It is noteworthy that this legal instrument serves as the fundamental pillar contributing to the leadership of the country's economic and social development processes.
In this perspective, this text aims to clarify the practical procedures related to the control and sound management of public funds, within the framework of establishing the principles of freedom of access to public procurement, equal treatment of candidates, and transparency of procedures.
Furthermore, the Government examined the draft National Strategy for Cancer Prevention and Control, Perspective 2035, prior to its submission for approval by the Council of Ministers.
This document was prepared by the National Committee for Cancer Prevention and Control, placed under the authority of the President of the Republic, based on the recommendations of the National Conference held in May 2025.
This strategy defines the operational tools and necessary measures to enhance prevention and care for cancer. Its implementation and evaluation rely on a dashboard encompassing all relevant indicators, allowing for the assessment of progress achieved and the identification of health system shortcomings in the field of cancer care.
Finally, the Government heard a presentation on the medical transfer of patients abroad for treatment. The presentation highlighted the results recorded by the National Medical Commission, as well as the progress made within the framework of the alternative national policy.
In this regard, the results achieved in 2025 demonstrate a positive dynamic toward enhanced health independence, characterized by a reduction in medical transfers abroad, the development of national healthcare provision, and the control of health expenditures.
