The President of the Constitutional Court, Leila Aslaoui, received on Sunday at the Court's headquarters the President of the Constitutional Council of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Diallo Mamadou Bathia, with whom she discussed the operational rules of both institutions.
The meeting took place on the eve of the third international conference of the Constitutional Court on "The Role of Constitutional Review in Protecting Rights and Freedoms in Algeria and Comparative Systems," in the presence of members of the Constitutional Court.
The occasion provided an opportunity to exchange views on "the operational rules of the two institutions, particularly regarding the monitoring of electoral operations as well as the guarantees granted to ensure rights and freedoms, especially the mechanism of the exception of unconstitutionality."
The visit also allowed the President of the Mauritanian Constitutional Council to learn about the various structures and facilities of the Constitutional Court, including the courtroom, the deliberation room, the library, and the museum area.
