The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, held a telephone conversation this Monday with the Head of Government of the Tunisian Republic, Mrs. Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, , according to a statement from the Prime Minister's office.
During this call, “the Prime Minister, on behalf of the President of the Republic, expressed his deep gratitude to the Tunisian authorities for their swift intervention and excellent care provided to those injured in the traffic accident that occurred on the morning of Friday, May 1, 2026, following the skidding of an Algerian tourist bus in the Medjez el Bab region of the Tunisian Republic.”
Mr. Ghrieb also expressed “'deep appreciation to the Tunisian Head of Government for the Tunisian authorities' responsiveness and cooperation in facilitating the evacuation of the victims of this accident under the best possible conditions, carried out in execution of the instructions of the President of the Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.”
In the same context, “the Prime Minister requested his Tunisian counterpart to convey the greetings of the President of the Republic of Algeria and his sincere thanks to his brother, the President of the Tunisian Republic, Mr. Kais Saied, for the care and cooperation shown by the Tunisian authorities regarding this accident, reflecting the depth of the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity that unite the two brotherly countries and peoples.”
For her part, the Tunisian Head of Government emphasized that “the efforts made by the Tunisian authorities, in cooperation with their Algerian counterparts, to care for and evacuate the injured, stem from a duty of solidarity dictated by the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two brotherly peoples.”
She also conveyed to the Prime Minister “the fraternal greetings of the President of the Tunisian Republic, Mr. Kais Saied, to his brother, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his keen interest in continuing to work together to develop bilateral relations, promote partnership, and strengthen solidarity between the two countries,” according to the statement.
