The acting president of the National Independent Electoral Authority (ANIE), Karim Khelfane, chaired a meeting with wilaya and communal coordinators, dedicated to explaining the procedures for processing and examining candidacy files within the deadlines set by law, in preparation for the upcoming July 2 legislative elections, an Authority press release indicated on Sunday.
"As part of the follow-up on the preparations for the election of members of the National People's Assembly (APN), Mr. Khelfane chaired a meeting via videoconference on Saturday evening, alongside members of the ANIE Council and the Director General of Electoral Affairs. The meeting was held with the wilaya coordinators and communal coordinators who are members of the ad hoc committees, as well as with the state IT engineers and technical executives of the Authority across all wilayas of the country," the same source specified.
This meeting was dedicated to "explaining the procedures for receiving, processing, and examining candidacy files, within the deadlines set by law, by the wilaya coordinator and the members of the ad hoc committee, provided for in Article 32 bis of the organic law relating to the electoral system, as amended and supplemented."
The meeting allowed for a review of the main legal and technical aspects that must be respected in order to ensure the smooth running of the electoral process, the press release concluded.
