Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb chaired a government meeting this Tuesday dedicated to several sectors, a statement from the Prime Minister's Office indicated.
According to the same source, "the government heard a presentation on the health map in Algeria, considered a strategic planning tool designed to guarantee a balanced distribution of healthcare provision and to improve access to health services across the entire national territory."
On this occasion, emphasis was placed on "the progress made in the development of health infrastructure, the strengthening of human resources, the extension of the national anti-cancer network, and the improvement of emergency care, as well as the advances recorded in the fight against communicable diseases."
The government also heard a presentation on "the development of an integrated ecosystem dedicated to startups, which falls within the dynamic of the structural transformation of the national economy based on innovation, technological development, economic diversification, and the strengthening of national sovereignty."
In this context, the statement specifies, "a draft action plan was presented." This plan is based on "a progressive three-step approach covering the creation, integration, and internationalization of startups, with the objective of creating 20,000 startups by 2029."
Finally, the government examined the draft National Biodiversity Strategy and its associated action plan (SPANBA 2025-2030), in alignment with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework adopted during the fifteenth Conference of the Parties (COP15).
"Falling within the framework of Algeria's international commitments regarding biodiversity and sustainable development, this strategy aims to strengthen the national biodiversity preservation system through measures designed to halt the degradation of ecosystems and restore natural environments, protect endangered species, rehabilitate degraded natural spaces, and sustainably improve ecosystem services," the same document added. It further emphasized that "the draft National Biodiversity Strategy (2025-2030) also provides for the integration of biodiversity-related issues into sectoral policies, the strengthening of environmental governance, as well as greater involvement from local authorities, civil society, and the economic sector."
