The first group of pilgrims from the western provinces of the country arrived on the night of Wednesday to Thursday at the Ahmed Ben Bella International Airport in Oran, after performing the Hajj rituals for the 2026 AD / 1447 AH season under excellent conditions.
This group, consisting of 251 pilgrims, returned home from the city of Jeddah via an Air Algérie flight and was received by local authorities.
The services at Oran International Airport provided all necessary facilities to receive the pilgrims in the best possible conditions, including the allocation of "green corridors" for the "Guests of Allah," specifically for the elderly and those with special needs. Additionally, various facilities were expanded and prepared, such as prayer rooms for men and women, a café, a waiting area for those accompanying the pilgrims, and a parking lot with a capacity for 1,000 vehicles, according to Nadjib Benchenine, Director General of the Oran Airport Management Company.
As a reminder, 21 flights have been scheduled to transport a total of 5,766 pilgrims from the Holy Sites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Ahmed Ben Bella International Airport in Oran, representing several western provinces.
The flights are distributed between 16 flights operated by Air Algérie and five flights by Saudi airlines, running from June 3 to June 23, with an average of 251 to 370 pilgrims per flight.
