The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, affirmed this Monday that laying the foundation stone for the power plant in N'Djamena aims to elevate Algerian-Chadian relations to the level of a solid strategic partnership based on effective solidarity, joint development, and mutual interests.
In a speech delivered prior to laying the foundation stone for the 40-megawatt power plant in the Farcha area of N'Djamena—tasked by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as an Algerian solidarity initiative—Mr. Ghrieb affirmed that this project is "an occasion that embodies the firm political will uniting the leaderships of the two sisterly countries. It translates on the ground the high directives of the President of the Republic and his brother, Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, President of the Republic of Chad, aimed at elevating Algerian-Chadian relations to the level of a solid strategic partnership based on effective solidarity, joint development, and mutual interests."
On this occasion, the Prime Minister conveyed to the Chadian authorities and the brotherly Chadian people the greetings of the President of the Republic, along with his constant keenness to "promote the bonds of brotherhood uniting the two brotherly peoples, and to strengthen bilateral cooperation relations, in a way that contributes to achieving the shared goals aimed at building a more integrated and prosperous African space."
He stated in this context: "Our meeting today, in addition to its important developmental symbolism, constitutes a prominent milestone in the course of strengthening Algerian-Chadian relations. These relations are witnessing an exceptional dynamism as they enter a new phase of solidarity and partnership, moving from the consultation and planning phase to the phase of implementation and on-the-ground realization of joint projects that citizens can feel in their daily lives."
He stressed that this project, approved by the President of the Republic, "comes to materialize the first fruits of this new dynamic launched by the official visit of Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno to Algeria in April 2026. It reflects the outcomes of the important talks he held with his brother, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and the resulting agreements and ambitious cooperation programs covering various vital sectors."
