The National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE) issued a statement on Wednesday calling on candidates for the upcoming July 2 legislative elections to visit its coordinators at the wilaya and constituency levels. Candidates are required to submit a document specifying the order of names on their electoral lists.
"Following statement no. 27 of June 4, 2026, regarding the ranking of candidates on lists, the National Independent Authority for Elections reminds candidate lists submitted by political parties, as well as independent lists that have received official notification of candidacy acceptance, of their obligation to contact the wilaya coordinator or the coordinator within the relevant electoral district's geographic area," the statement read.
According to the same source, this step is necessary to submit a document—signed by either the head of the political party or the candidates of the independent lists—specifying the order of candidates. It also serves to verify that all information and required documents are available for the preparation of ballot papers for the election of members of the People’s National Assembly, scheduled for July 2, 2026.
