The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, chaired a government meeting on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. The session was dedicated to a presentation on the siting of public projects on land with an agricultural or forest vocation, the study of a roadmap for the development of call centers in Algeria, and a presentation on Algeria's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) within the framework of the Paris Agreement on Climate, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office:
"Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb chaired a government meeting this Wednesday, June 10, 2026, dedicated to the following points:
Firstly, the Government heard a presentation regarding the location of public projects on land plots of an agricultural or forest nature. In this regard, the Government reviewed the means and methods necessary to ensure the preservation of agricultural land and forest property, by ensuring that public infrastructure and investment projects are carried out on non-agricultural and non-forest land.
The Government also studied a draft roadmap for the development of call centers in Algeria, aimed at encouraging investment in this sector which provides numerous job opportunities. The goal is to make our country, based on its competitive advantages, a regional hub for the outsourcing of communication services and to contribute to achieving job creation targets by 2027.
Finally, the Government heard a presentation on Algeria's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) under the Paris Agreement on Climate. On this occasion, it was recalled that Algeria is among the countries most vulnerable to the effects of climate change, particularly in terms of desertification, water scarcity, and recurrent droughts.
In the face of these challenges, our country reaffirms its commitment to the goals of the Paris Agreement through a strategy aimed at achieving sustainable, low-carbon, and inclusive development."
