The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has ordered security services to launch a "very thorough" investigation into the fire at the assisted childhood center in Mohammadia, Algiers.
"I have ordered security services to conduct a very thorough investigation, from the orderly to the highest-ranking official" of this institution to shed full light on this tragedy, the President of the Republic declared during his periodic interview with representatives of the national media, which will be broadcast on Monday evening.
On another note, the President of the Republic paid tribute to the efforts of the various responders and actors dealing with the fires recorded in certain wilayas, specifically citing the images of solidarity shown by Civil Protection officers cooling down their colleagues from Sonelgaz as the latter worked to restore a power outage next to an active fire hotspot. "These are images that you will only see in Algeria," he maintained, before announcing that "measures will be taken to encourage field agents."
Furthermore, the President of the Republic committed to "continuing dialogue with political parties."
In another area, the President of the Republic affirmed that the state will continue to wage a "fierce war" against neighborhood gangs, assuring that these gangs will be "defeated."
In this regard, the President of the Republic sought to reassure all Algerian families regarding "the safety of their sons and daughters."
Regarding Algerian-French relations, the President of the Republic reaffirmed "to Algerians before our French friends" that the Algerian President "has never asked for a quota of visas, a specific number of visas, or even spoken about visas," just as he "has never demanded apologies or compensation," before concluding: "Algeria will never beg."
