The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Gabon to Algeria, Ms. Marie Rosine Mimi Itsana, affirmed on Wednesday that relations between Algeria and Gabon are built on "deep friendship," "mutual respect," and a "shared vision" for what African solidarity should be.

In a statement following the presentation of her credentials to the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Ms. Itsana stated: "Diplomatic relations between Algeria and Gabon date back to 1973 and are built on deep friendship, mutual respect, and a shared vision of what African solidarity must be."

She added that "this friendship has been strengthened over decades, and today there is a shared will to consolidate our economic and trade exchanges to serve the development of both countries." She further noted that "concrete institutional pillars have already been established, particularly through the creation of an Algeria-Gabon Business Council and the protocol signed between the two countries' investment promotion agencies."

The Ambassador also highlighted the launch of a direct air route between Algiers and Libreville, asserting that "the inaugural flight scheduled for June 16 is not merely a technical event, but a realization of a shared ambition and a mutual, firm will to bring our two peoples closer together."
