The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, chaired a meeting of the Joint Ministerial Council on Wednesday dedicated to establishing a national integrated system for monitoring goods at borders. This follows the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, issued during the Council of Ministers meeting on June 7, regarding the reinforcement of control mechanisms for consumer products and the strengthening of laboratory capacities at land, sea, and air border crossings, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office.
In this regard, "a technical working group has been formed under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Market Regulation. It is tasked with implementing the necessary measures for the synergy and rational use of material and human resources of analysis and compliance monitoring laboratories at the national level, as well as the establishment and application of Algerian standards for imported products intended for local consumption," the statement explained.
