Voting operations via mobile polling stations dedicated to nomadic populations in the deep south wilayas began today, Monday, as part of the legislative elections scheduled for July 2, according to local delegations of the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE).
In the wilaya of Ouargla, six mobile polling stations departed this morning from the ANIE municipal delegation headquarters in the border municipality of El Borma towards remote areas, under the supervision of the ANIE wilaya coordinator, Said Benberdi. These polling stations cover an electorate of 8,597 voters.
Mr. Benberdi explained on the sidelines of the launch of the operation that the wilaya of Ouargla has 92 voting centers comprising 531 polling stations, serving a total electorate of 211,782 voters.
In the wilaya of In Guezzam, four mobile polling stations were launched, targeting an electorate of 5,878 voters. Three stations have begun receiving voters, while the fourth will launch next Wednesday.
These polling stations are distributed across the municipalities of In Guezzam and Tin Zaouatine: one mobile polling station is dedicated to the municipality of In Guezzam, and three mobile polling stations to the municipality of Tin Zaouatine, aiming to enable citizens living in remote areas to perform their electoral duty under the best conditions.
The concerned authorities confirmed that all necessary logistical and organizational resources have been provided to ensure that the electoral teams reach isolated population centers and enable voters to exercise their right to vote in appropriate conditions.
Voting operations via mobile polling stations in the wilayas of Illizi and Tamanrasset also began under good organizational conditions, ensuring that voters can cast their ballots in the best possible environment. This falls within the framework of efforts to guarantee the participation of all citizens, particularly those residing in remote areas, in this electoral event.
