The Minister and High Commissioner for Digitization Receives the Director General of Estonia's e-Governance Academy

The Minister and High Commissioner for Digitization, Meriem Benmouloud, received the Director General of the e-Governance Academy (eGA) of Estonia, Hannes Astok, at his request, accompanied by representatives of the European Union (EU) mission in Algeria, a ministry statement indicated on Wednesday.

The meeting takes place within the framework of "the implementation of the economic governance support program between Algeria and the EU and the strengthening of cooperation and partnership in the field of digital transformation," through the examination of the concept note relating to the project for accelerating digital transformation in Algeria. This project is part of the cooperation program for the 2026-2028 period, in alignment with the objectives of the national digital transformation strategy and the "Digital Algeria 2030" vision, the same source specified.

The meeting focused on "the main axes aimed at developing a modern public digital infrastructure, strengthening interoperability between administrations, improving data governance, modernizing digital public services, as well as developing national skills through training programs, and supporting the implementation of digitization projects."

Discussions also covered "the implementation mechanisms of the project, which relies on a management and monitoring system in accordance with international standards, guaranteeing the quality, transparency, and proper execution of its various stages, while leveraging the international expertise that eGA possesses in the fields of e-governance, interoperability, and digital governance."

This cooperation reflects the High Commission for Digitization's commitment to "strengthen qualitative international partnerships, support the digital transformation process, consolidate digital sovereignty, and establish a modern, efficient, and secure public administration offering innovative and high-quality digital services, in line with citizens' expectations and the objectives of the Digital Algeria 2030 vision," the statement concluded.
