Within the framework of the summer program outlined for members of the national community residing abroad, the State Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, received this morning a group of students participating in the first edition of the recognition program dedicated to outstanding students from the children of the national community residing abroad.
The organization of this national program, which coincides with the celebration of the 64th anniversary of Independence and Youth Day, comes within the framework of encouraging student figures among the children of the diaspora to continue excelling in their academic and university paths. The program, running from July 3 to 9, 2026, includes a series of activities as well as field, cultural, and scientific visits, in coordination and cooperation with a number of ministerial sectors, national institutions, and bodies.
This initiative, the first of its kind, also falls within the efforts made by the State to strengthen the bond between the children of the national community abroad and their motherland. This is achieved by valuing and honoring Algerian students who have achieved outstanding academic and scientific paths in their countries of residence, and enabling them to discover Algeria's rich historical, civilizational, and cultural assets, as well as to learn about its academic, developmental, and tourism capabilities.
On this occasion, the State Secretary praised the distinguished scientific level of the participants, emphasizing that this initiative embodies the special care given by the country's highest authorities to national talents residing abroad, and their keenness to consolidate their connection to the motherland and encourage them to contribute to the national development process. He also commended the level of close cooperation and coordination among the various ministerial sectors, which contributed to the success and realization of this program in its first edition.
