The President of the Republic of Algeria, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, arrived this Saturday at the Palace of the People in Algiers to oversee the annual ceremony for promoting ranks and awarding decorations to a number of general officers, senior officers, and civilian personnel in the People's National Army (ANP). This comes on the eve of the celebrations marking the 64th anniversary of Independence Day and the restoration of national sovereignty.
Upon his arrival at the Palace of the People, the President of the Republic was received by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha.
The President of the Republic listened to the national anthem before reviewing detachments from the various forces of the People's National Army that rendered him military honors. He then shook hands with the senior officials of the military institution who were present to welcome him.
