The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, chaired a government meeting this Wednesday dedicated to reviewing the legal framework for creating a National Port Authority, a draft executive decree establishing the National Council for Agricultural Mechanization, and a presentation on the "San'aa" program aimed at the professional qualification of youth, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's office. The full text of the statement reads as follows:
"The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, chaired a government meeting this Wednesday, July 8, 2026, which was dedicated to the following points:
In implementation of the high instructions of the President of the Republic, the government has commenced reviewing the legal framework related to the creation of a National Port Authority. This body will be tasked with public service duties centered on the development, maintenance, management, and preservation of the public port domain.
The government also examined a draft executive decree containing the establishment of the National Council for Agricultural Mechanization, defining its duties, organization, and operations.
In line with the directives of the President of the Republic, this draft text aims to establish a national governance framework responsible for defining, coordinating, and monitoring the implementation of the national strategy for agricultural mechanization. This initiative seeks to develop agricultural mechanization across our country, modernize agricultural holdings, improve productivity, and contribute to strengthening national food sovereignty."
Finally, the government listened to a presentation on the "San'aa" (Craft) program, which serves as a practical mechanism for qualifying youth and acquiring the professional skills required in the labor market.
This program aims to introduce youth to various professions and trades while developing their professional and artisanal capabilities. This is achieved by providing training, mentorship, and support spaces that enable them to discover different trades and acquire the skills necessary to practice them.
To ensure all segments of society can benefit from this initiative, the training program hours will be extended to include evening sessions and weekends.
This national initiative comes in response to the growing needs of the national economy for a qualified workforce. It also supports public policies aimed at wealth creation, job generation, and encouraging individual entrepreneurship among youth."
