On Sunday, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent a message of condolence to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the sister State of Qatar, following the passing of the former Emir, Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The message read: "It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that I received the news of the passing of the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, returning to his Creator. In the wake of this immense loss and painful tragedy, I extend to Your Highness my most sincere condolences, solidarity, and heartfelt sympathy, and through you, to the grieving honorable family. You have lost one of the great, righteous builders of the sister State of Qatar, an Arab leader renowned for his wisdom and his profound contributions to Arab causes. I pray to Almighty God to encompass him in His vast mercy and to grant you patience and solace."
The President of the Republic added: "The late Sheikh had a special relationship with Algeria, a country he loved and which reciprocated that noble sentiment. He forged strong bonds with Algeria through his auspicious private visits, to which he had long accustomed us. May God have mercy on Sheikh Hamad, accept him among the righteous, and grant him a place in His spacious paradise... To God we belong and to Him we shall return."
