On behalf of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, signed today, Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Algiers, the condolence book following the passing of the Father Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The text of the condolences read as follows:
"With great sadness, deep sorrow, and full submission to the will and decree of Allah, we received the news of the passing of the Father Emir, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, to the mercy of his Lord. In this painful moment that has grieved the noble Al Thani family and the fraternal Qatari people as a whole, we extend to you our warmest condolences and sincere sympathy, praying to Almighty Allah to grant him a place in His paradise of satisfaction, to inspire you, the State of Qatar, and its fraternal people beautiful patience and solace, and to encompass you in His care and protection.
In losing a man of the stature and caliber of Sheikh Hamad, the loss is indeed momentous, yet our consolation is beautiful. It compels us to speak a word of truth about the late departed, who dedicated his life to the service of Qatar and its fraternal people through the high responsibilities he assumed with competence and wisdom.
Everyone recognizes that he was a brilliant leader of a unique journey, through which he succeeded in elevating his country to the ranks of nations with clear regional and international influence.
Allah blessed him with shrewdness and wisdom that enabled him to defuse many wars and crises, and to bring opposing factions to the dialogue table to achieve reconciliation and establish peace. Thanks to his efforts, Doha became an outstanding center for mediation and communication between disputing parties, earning the late deceased gratitude and recognition.
Fraternal Qatar further reinforced these benevolent efforts with humanitarian work and aid provided to peoples exhausted by conflicts. Sheikh Hamad shared a relationship of familiarity and ties of kinship with Algeria and its people, which he initiated with an article he wrote after its independence while he was still a student. These bonds were further strengthened through his private visits to our country. He also demonstrated deep-rooted and authentic kindness during his meetings with citizens in the city of El Bayadh, weaving enduring fraternal ties with them; they continued to hold feelings of love and deep respect for him during his lifetime, and pray for his mercy after his passing.
Thus, on behalf of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, I renew to you our sincere condolences and deepest sympathy on the passing of the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad. May Allah have mercy upon him, shower him with His forgiveness, and grant him a place in His vast heavens. Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return."
