Council of Ministers: Tourist Allowance to Be Disbursed Temporarily via Bank Card

The Council of Ministers decided during its meeting on Sunday, chaired by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, that the tourist allowance will temporarily be disbursed via bank card instead of cash to put an end to observed abuses, according to a statement from the Council of Ministers.

"Regarding the report on the tourist allowance, and in view of serious irregularities that have led to a drain on foreign currency without the intended beneficiaries actually receiving the tourist allowance, it was provisionally decided that this allowance will be disbursed via bank card, and no longer in cash, in order to put an end to the observed abuses," the statement read.
