The League of Arab States expressed its "full disapproval" following recent statements by a Zionist official indicating intentions to establish settlements in the northern part of the occupied Gaza Strip.

In a statement released Tuesday, the Secretary General of the Arab League, Nabil Fahmy, emphasized that these remarks reveal the true ambitions of the Zionist entity to "reoccupy all or several parts of the territory."

"This intention flagrantly contravenes the peace plan proposed last year, as well as United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, adopted in November 2025," he said.

In this regard, the Secretary General of the League called on the international community and the Security Council to "confront these far-right orientations that seek to perpetuate the occupation," noting that "the occupation government is now totally under the influence of settlers."

These new settlement projects in several Palestinian areas are sparking strong discontent among Palestinians. They form part of an occupation policy aimed at imposing a new reality on the ground through the expansion of its illegal presence, thereby undermining the prospects for the creation of an independent Palestinian State.
