Special Weather Report: Heatwave Persists in Several Wilayas Until Friday

The heatwave, which has been affecting several of the country’s wilayas since Sunday, will persist until at least Friday, with temperatures expected to reach or exceed 48 degrees Celsius in some areas, according to a Special Weather Report issued Wednesday by the National Meteorological Office.

The "Orange" vigilance level for the heatwave concerns the wilayas of Bejaïa, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, and El Tarf, where maximum temperatures will oscillate between 40 and 44 degrees, locally reaching or exceeding 46/48 degrees, while minimum temperatures will range from 26 to 32 degrees until at least Friday, the same source specified.

The wilayas of Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbés, Saida, Mascara, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Blida, Médéa, Tizi-Ouzou, M'sila, Djelfa, Mila, Sétif, Bouira, Constantine, Souk-Ahras, Bordj-Bou-Arréridj, Tébessa, Oum El Bouaghi, Batna, and Khenchela are also under the same level of vigilance. These areas will see maximum temperatures between 44 and 46 degrees and minimums between 26 and 32 degrees until at least Friday.

Furthermore, in the wilayas of Relizane, Chlef, Ain Defla, and Guelma, maximum temperatures will oscillate between 45 and 47 degrees, locally reaching 47/48 degrees, while minimums will vary between 28 and 34 degrees until at least Friday.

Similarly, the wilayas of Ain Temouchent, Oran, Mostaganem, Tipaza, Algiers, and Boumerdes will record maximum temperatures between 39 and 41 degrees, with minimums situated between 24 and 30 degrees until at least Friday.
