The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, asserted today, Thursday, in Berlin, that Algeria is a reliable gas supplier for Europe, highlighting Germany's interest in securing Algerian gas.
In a joint press conference with the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Friedrich Merz, the President of the Republic explained that the level of cooperation between Algeria and Germany "now encompasses many unifying points and reflects a qualitative shift in the economic field," revealing that "perhaps for the first time, our German friends are discussing supplying Germany with gas, and we, as a supplier to Europe, are considered a reliable partner that does not abandon its duties."
The President of the Republic also highlighted that his official visit to Germany "came to strengthen certain aspects of economic, security, and political relations with friendly Germany, which will soon see the launch of a new corridor for hydrogen gas, and potentially subsequent renewable energies like electricity and others," expressing his satisfaction with this decision.
On this occasion, he noted the "major projects" being implemented in Algeria by German companies, whose numbers are "increasing annually, especially in light of the adoption of the single-window system to facilitate investment."
In this regard, he reported the existence of "approximately 900 million dollars submitted to the single window by German companies wishing to invest."
Regarding security cooperation, the President of the Republic stated that this matter "was discussed in detail," noting in this respect that "everything is going extremely well with Germany."
