The Ministry of Vocational Training and Education has dispatched technical missions to the republics of Niger and Chad to conduct an in-depth field assessment of the vocational training sector's needs and to establish executive action plans that address the priorities of both countries, according to a ministry statement issued this Monday.
This step falls within the framework of implementing the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at "strengthening cooperation with the two fraternal countries."
The same source explained that these missions held "a series of specialized technical meetings, bringing together experts and sector executives from both sides, where they thoroughly studied the various components of the vocational training and education system and identified actual needs at both central and local levels."
The statement added that the Algerian missions conducted "field visits to a number of public and private training institutions, training workshops, laboratories, and technical platforms, where they assessed the reality of the infrastructure, pedagogical organization, equipment, management mechanisms, and the relationship of training institutions with the economic environment, enabling a precise diagnosis of their needs in the areas of capacity building."
He explained that the work of the technical teams resulted in "agreeing on a package of practical measures, foremost of which is launching training-of-trainers programs at both pedagogical and technical levels, strengthening the capacities of central executives and training institution managers, developing pedagogical engineering, and exchanging documentation and training resources."
Agreement was also reached on "training interns in specialties linked to priority structural projects, thereby ensuring the availability of qualified competencies to accompany economic development projects and respond to the actual needs of the labor market."
The programs also included—the statement added—"preparing training plans according to a specific timeline, identifying the institutions' needs for pedagogical support, activating twinning programs between institutions, and developing distance education and training, while establishing joint mechanisms for follow-up and evaluation to ensure the effective implementation of the agreed-upon measures."
The statement concluded that this dynamic confirms "the orientation of the vocational training and education sector toward establishing African cooperation based on the actual implementation of programs, transferring Algerian expertise, capacity building, and technical accompaniment, thus contributing to the development of vocational training and education systems and preparing competencies that meet the demands of economic and social development."
