Mustapha Hidaoui, the Minister of Youth, in charge of the Higher Council for Youth (CSJ), officially inaugurated the "Youth Arts" winter camp on Monday evening in Taghit, located in the wilaya of Béchar. The event has drawn the participation of approximately one hundred young people from various wilayas across the country.
In his address during the ceremony, the Minister emphasized the importance of organizing this type of national youth event in the tourist region of Taghit.
This initiative is part of the second edition of the national winter event organized by the Ministry of Youth under the slogan "Youth in Motion." It aims to provide young creators with a space for creativity and capacity building through various training workshops scheduled for the occasion. These workshops cover different artistic techniques, while also allowing participants to discover the country's rich tourism potential.
Mr. Hidaoui added that this type of event serves as a means to value youth talent in numerous artistic fields. He described it as an ideal space for expressing their aptitudes and a tool for training through workshops led by subject-matter experts.
These workshops cover music, visual arts, and theater. They were established to develop the theoretical and practical knowledge of young talents hailing from the wilayas of Tlemcen, Naâma, El Bayadh, El Oued, Bouira, Relizane, Adrar and Algiers.
Mr. Hidaoui concluded his visit to the commune of Taghit and the wilaya by kicking off several other sports activities initiated by youth associations on the sand, including fantasia (equestrian performances), Mehari camel racing, and karate, as well as car and motorcycle races. The event was also marked by an artistic performance led by local groups and troupes from the wilayas participating in the camp.
Earlier in the day, the government member, accompanied by local authorities, took part in a reforestation operation along a section of the Béchar–Beni Abbes–Tindouf–Gara Djebilet mining railway line, which crosses the wilaya of Béchar.
