The 15th edition of the International Cultural Festival of Symphonic Music will be held from April 30 to May 7 at the Algiers Opera House "Boualem Bessaih," featuring the participation of 21 countries, with the Czech Republic as the guest of honor, Festival Commissioner Abdelkader Bouazara announced Tuesday in Algiers.

During a press briefing held at the Opera House in the presence of representatives from the foreign diplomatic corps accredited to Algeria, Mr. Bouazara specified that this 15th edition "will be organized under the patronage of the Minister of Culture and Arts, Malika Bendouda, with 21 countries participating, confirming the international dimension of the festival and its growing stature on the artistic scene."

Regarding the selection of the Czech Republic as the guest of honor, the commissioner emphasized that it "reflects the organizers' desire to strengthen cultural exchange bridges and offer diverse musical experiences to the Algerian public," adding that it "also reflects the prominent place symphonic music holds in that country, which is rich in long-standing traditions and a significant musical heritage."

This edition will also pay tribute to the memory of one of Algeria's most prominent musicians, Noubli Fadel, who passed away in December 2025, "in recognition of his rich artistic career and his contribution to the Algerian, Arab, and international musical scenes," he added.

For his part, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Algiers, Matej Denk, indicated that his country will participate this year as the guest of honor with the South Bohemian Philharmonic, an orchestra renowned for its "high artistic level," noting that it will perform in Algiers and the wilaya of Oran.

Furthermore, the festival will feature training workshops for young musicians and students. These sessions, led by Algerian and foreign teachers and experts in the field of orchestral performance, aim to refine the skills of the participants and foster artistic and knowledge exchanges among them.
