Grand Prix of Tlemcen: Victory for Hamza Yacine

Algerian international Yacine Hamza, a member of the Madar Pro-Team, won the 2026 edition of the City of Tlemcen Cycling Grand Prix, held on Sunday on a closed 79-kilometer circuit at the Lalla Setti Plateau.

Yacine Hamza won with a time of 1:52:27, finishing ahead of his Madar Pro-Team teammate, Hamza Mansouri, who came in second with the same time (1:52:27), while Ashraf Ferhat from Mouloudia of Algiers completed the podium with a time of 1:54:18.

Of the 34 riders who started the race, only 13 managed to cross the finish line. The other 21 all abandoned the race along the way.

The day before, Yacine Hamza had secured second place in the general classification of the second edition of the Tour of Tlemcen, with a time of 6:29:27.

He finished behind his Madar Pro-Team teammate, Hamza Mansouri, the winner in 6:29:27, while another rider from the "MPT" team took third place, namely Mohamed Amine Hamzioui (6:34:38).

This City of Tlemcen Grand Prix was contested on a closed 3.16-kilometer circuit, which the riders covered 25 times for a total distance of 79 kilometers.

Both competitions were organized by the Cycling League of the wilaya of Tlemcen, in close collaboration with the local Directorate of Youth and Sports, and under the auspices of the Algerian Cycling Federation (FAC).
