ANIE Publishes Results of Periodic Electoral List Revision

On Wednesday, the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE) released the results of the periodic revision of electoral lists covering the period from October 20, 2025, to November 18, 2025. This operation, stipulated by law, is part of the regular update of the national electoral register.

According to a statement from ANIE, "before the opening of this periodic revision, the total number of registered voters stood at 24,315,551. Among them, 23,486,061 were registered inside the country, while 865,490 were registered abroad." The statement specified that "following the revision, the global number of registered voters reached 24,503,060. Within the national territory, 512,188 new voters were registered, while 364,431 people were removed from the lists. The total number of voters registered inside the country after the revision thus amounts to 23,633,818."

Regarding voters residing abroad, ANIE added that 37,213 new registrations were recorded against 33,461 removals. The total number of voters registered abroad after the periodic revision is now 869,242.

In its statement, ANIE expressed "its gratitude to all members of the municipal commissions responsible for revising the electoral lists, as well as to the supervisory commissions," praising "the efforts of the stakeholders involved in operations carried out at diplomatic missions and consular representations abroad."

Finally, the Authority highlighted "the role of awareness and information campaigns that contributed to encouraging young people, students, and all citizens to register on the electoral lists, thereby strengthening citizen participation in the democratic process."
