General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army (PNA), attended the opening ceremony of the 9th edition of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference "DIMDEX-2026" on the second day of his official visit to the State of Qatar, according to a statement issued Monday by the Ministry of National Defence (MND).
"During the second day of his visit to the brotherly State of Qatar, General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, took part today, January 19, 2026, in the opening ceremony of the 9th edition of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference DIMDEX-2026," the same source specified.
"Following the official opening ceremony of this global event, supervised by His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar, the General of the Army visited, along with his accompanying delegation, several exhibition stands," where "he inquired about the material and equipment on display, such as high-technology weapons and weapon systems, and listened attentively to the detailed explanations and presentations provided by the officials in charge of the stands," the statement added.
"Furthermore, General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha held talks with His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs of the State of Qatar, to whom he expressed his sincere thanks for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him." They reviewed areas of military cooperation between the two armies, which are experiencing "significant momentum under the auspices of the leaders of both countries and their common will to further strengthen it and bring it to the expected level," the same source noted.
